Banana Nut Oatmeal

Ditch the prepackaged instant oatmeal.   Now you can enjoy DELICIOUS oats, real whole bananas and crunchy nuts in the same amount of time at a fraction of the price.  And tell me this bowl doesn't look waaaaay better than that instant oatmeal you've been using lately.

Ingredients:  
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (I did not use instant) 
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons of nuts (I used pecans and sliced almonds) 
  • 1/2 banana 
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon 
  • 1 packet of stevia 

Optional:  to increase your protein in this meal you can add 
  • 1 tbs flaxseed or mill   and/or 
  • 1 tbs protein powder
Directions:  
Place oats, milk,1/2 the bananas, 1/2 the nuts and cinnamon into a microwave safe bowl.  Stir.  Heat in microwave for 2.5 - 3 minutes until oats get soft.  Remove from Microwave.  Caution - bowl will be hot! 
Stir in stevia.  If adding extra protein add the powder and/or flax now.  
Top with remaining banana and nuts.  ENJOY!
